Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Summary
Under management direction, a Hospital Services Worker travels between customer healthcare facilities providing on-site proactive collection and exchange of waste containers for various WM Healthcare Solutions (WMHS) programs, including Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substances, and Document Management. Services are provided at regularly scheduled intervals for assigned facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Travel between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for WMHS programs.
- Interact professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
- Maintain a rigid collection and service schedule.
- Communicate duty status on a defined schedule.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Required:
On‑site presence at WMHS customer locations and compliance with all mandatory immunization requirements imposed by such customers. - Preferred: 2 years of industry‐related experience in a customer service capacity or equivalent related work experience, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
- Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds and push and/or pull carts weighing as much as 500 pounds.
- Field:
Operates in indoor and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat and humidity.
- Monday:
River Region Merit Health – 6 am to 1 pm - Tuesday:
Off - Wednesday:
River Region Merit Health – 6 am to 1 pm - Thursday:
Off - Friday:
River Region Merit Health – 1 pm to 3 pm
