The Floor Technician performs scheduled floor care tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Tasks may include mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, arranging furniture, and generally cleaning furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

• Maintain all floor surfaces.
• Buff and wax floors; strip and wax floors; top scrub and wax floors.
• Extract and vacuum carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Utilize appropriate chemicals and equipment.
• Report repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Request needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identify and correct safety hazards and abide by safety rules.
• Review Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and enforce as required.
• Attend weekly in-services; understand and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Assure patient/resident safety.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

• Experience in floor care.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
