Facilities Attendant​/Custodian

The Town of Vienna seeks a dependable Facilities Attendant/Custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming municipal buildings and parks. Duties include daily cleaning of restrooms and public areas, trash and recycling removal, basic floor care, light maintenance, and room setup/breakdown for meetings and events. The role supports community programs by ensuring facilities are ready, secure, and well-stocked. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, able to lift and move equipment, follow safety procedures, and work independently or as part of a team while providing courteous service to staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, and public areas
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables
• Perform basic floor care including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
• Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas
• Set up and break down rooms for meetings, programs, and events
• Report maintenance and safety issues to supervisors
• Perform light maintenance such as minor repairs and bulb changes
• Follow safety and cleaning protocols and use equipment properly
• Secure facilities by locking doors and checking designated areas
