QualificationsAs per state code 18A-4-8 and county regulations, those presently employed or on the Substitute Custodian List will be given preference (18A-4-8b)
Requirements- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School diploma, or equivalent, pursuant to WV Code §18A-2-5
- Criminal Background check pursuant to WV Code § 18-5-15c
- Applicants must take and pass the State Custodial & Maintenance Competency Exams
- Move, crawl, sit, stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, grasp, talk, hear, see, and use repetitive motions
- Lift and move objects as required
- Clean cafeteria, restrooms, and classrooms as assigned
- Keep assigned areas free of debris and maintain grounds cleanliness
- Make minor maintenance repairs
- Maintain a daily/weekly work schedule to keep buildings and grounds in a sanitary condition
- Report problem areas within the building and/or grounds that need repair (including issues with equipment, cleaning, sanitation, or pest control)
- Maintain supplies needed for the assigned work space
- Work safely using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to reduce risk of injury to self and coworkers
- Clean and wash floors, walls and ceilings; dust and polish furniture; wash windows; strip, spray, buff, polish and wax floors; wash and clean restrooms; remove trash and furnishings as assigned
- Snow removal duties as assigned
- Maintain positive work habits
- Perform any and all job-related duties as assigned

As Provided in West Virginia Code 18A-4-8 and 18A-4-8a (prorated for the school year)
