Job DescriptionThe purpose of the role: Provide custodial services at the assigned site, ensuring an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors; perform special cleaning operations; assist in preparing facilities for classroom activities and campus events.
Hours: 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm
Availability: Immediately
Essential Functions- Arrange furniture and equipment for special events.
- Clean facilities and grounds (classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, locker rooms, multipurpose rooms) to maintain sanitation, safety, and appearance.
- Deliver supplies, mail, packages, and furniture to appropriate parties.
- Perform summer cleaning (strip/wax floors, move furniture, paint, clean windows) to facilitate construction.
- Prepare the site for daily operations (open gates, raise flags, sweep walkways) to ensure safety.
- Replenish classroom and restroom supplies (light bulbs, paper towels, soap).
- Respond to safety or operational concerns and notify appropriate personnel.
- Attend meetings, training, workshops.
- Inform building administration and faculty about activities and safety issues.
- Monitor students and staff around work areas to prevent injuries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Secure facilities and grounds (doors, gates, alarms).
- Support other maintenance staff.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Carry trash containers in excess of 50 gallons and furniture/materials in excess of 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders for cleaning surfaces.
- Operate equipment used in industrial maintenance, including electrical cleaning equipment and common tools.
- Operate motor vehicles as necessary.
- Adhere to safety practices.
Knowledge: Ability to read and follow instructions and understand multi‑step written and oral instructions.
Abilities: Schedule activities, use job‑related equipment, adapt to changing priorities, work extended hours, communicate with diverse groups, meet deadlines, work as part of a team, handle interruptions, and attend work consistently.
Education and ExperienceEducation: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Job‑related experience is desired.
