Inn Express - Maintenance Engineer; Part Time

Maintenance Engineer – Part‑time, $17.50/hr with excellent benefits. The Holiday Inn Express at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront seeks a staff engineer to maintain the property to brand standards.

The Maintenance Engineer will assist in maintaining the condition of the hotel property to brand standards by completing repairs and providing general building maintenance.

• Perform repairs listed on work orders and maintain a record of completed work.
• Track and record repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and other tasks as assigned.
• Perform scheduled maintenance inspections and repairs per the maintenance manual.
• Picks up loose trash and debris; empties trash containers daily or as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of storage areas, furniture storeroom, maintenance room, boiler room and flammable storage container.
• Adjust controls on mechanical systems to meet company standards.
• Remove, clean, replace and maintain unit air conditioners, televisions, telephones and similar equipment.
• Ensure fire safety equipment is operational, inspections current and forward reports to General Manager.
• Ensure all maintenance tools are in good working condition and stored securely; maintain monthly tool inventory records.
• Comply with OSHA, ADA and other safety and security policies.
• Offer guest assistance as needed.

• Stamina to stand and walk for a full shift, navigate stairs, bend, stoop, reach overhead, push and pull up to 250lbs and lift up to 75lbs.
• Good working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and A/C repairs.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks.
• Previous hotel experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
• Certification or completion of seminars for specialized training.
