Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Tool & Parts Attendant – Amentum, NAS Oceana, VA. Support U.S. Navy aircraft maintenance operations.
Responsibilities- Issue, receive, store, and inventory all assigned tools, equipment, hazmat, shop equipment, and specialized tools/test equipment.
- Maintain records of tools issued or received; requisition stock as needed.
- Unpack and store new equipment and supplies.
- Visually inspect tools for wear, defects and missing parts and report findings.
- Treat tools and equipment with preservatives such as grease or oils; attach identification tags or markings; engrave using electric marking tool.
- Pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check and favorable fingerprints in EQIP; complete SF-85/86 in EQIP as required for CAC card.
- Assume responsibilities for safety culture, training, emergency response, and safety committee participation.
- Adhere to quality policies and address quality management duties.
- Implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
- Shift work required.
- High School graduate or equivalent with minimum 2 years actual and recent organizational level aircraft maintenance experience.
- Valid Virginia or North Carolina driver license (if North Carolina resident).
- Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required for assigned maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Self‑motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Must meet physical requirements, including standing, climbing, bending, stooping, and lifting 50 lbs.
- Must obtain favorable T3 Secret eligibility status and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization.
- Prior U.S. Navy aviation experience on F/A-18 aircraft.
Hourly rate: $23.15 per hour. Plus $7.80 per hour for Health & Welfare (up to 40 hours per week).
