Housekeeper | Custodian | Janitorial Associate

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, common areas, dining halls, and campus facilities.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash throughout assigned areas.
• Restock paper products, soap, and other facility supplies.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly environments for students, staff, and visitors.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and effectively.
• Respond to cleaning requests and address service needs promptly.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and facility standards.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service during daily interactions.

• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, hospitality, environmental services, or cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and stay organized.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Reliable attendance and a positive attitude.
• Comfortable using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to follow procedures and safety guidelines.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Experience cleaning schools, universities, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, or other large facilities.
• Experience with floor care, sanitizing, and general facility maintenance.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling practices.

This position is based on a university campus and involves active, hands-on work throughout the shift. Team members clean classrooms, common areas, restrooms, dining facilities, and other campus spaces while interacting with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and the use of standard janitorial equipment and cleaning supplies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
