Overview
This position is designated as safety-sensitive. As such, a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening are mandatory. The incumbent will also be subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout the duration of employment.
Responsibilities- Responsible for ensuring guests receive high-quality care and have a positive experience at the Boathouse and Lake Lanier Olympic Park. Duties include setting up the room to guest specifications, cleaning, and maintaining LLOP, Boathouse ballroom and meeting rooms.
- Set up meeting rooms, exhibit areas, and areas for scheduled events by arranging chairs, tables, podiums, and risers according to customer requests. May operate lift to perform duties.
- Clean up after events; break down set-ups including vacuuming/mopping floors, picking up trash and emptying trash cans, stacking and storing tables, chairs, podiums, risers, table coverings, etc. Perform custodial duties on a regularly assigned area or as needed basis.
- Assemble, operate and ensure microphones, laptops, TVs, projector screens, speakers, amplifiers, recorders, etc. are in good working order.
- Ensure building operates properly, provide assistance to the public attending events, repair and/or change set-ups at customers request during events, and lock up the building after events. Interact with customers to determine needs and resolve problems or concerns.
- Assist in changing light bulbs, painting, changing air filters, repairs of minor plumbing and electrical systems, and perform other building maintenance duties as requested by the Guest Experience Coordinator.
- Clean kitchen, pick up trash on grounds and parking area, clean windows, furniture, restrooms and general areas; perform other janitorial services as required; clean carpets in rooms and lobby.
- Drive vehicle as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Act as lead during night and weekend events.
- Touch up paint after repairs or damage; hang pictures, maps of fire exits, etc.
- Inspect grounds and facilities on a daily basis to identify and resolve issues; perform emergency park and grounds maintenance.
- Open and lock the building each day after assuring no one is left inside.
- Work directly with the Plaza and Boathouse Events Managers to ensure event setup is complete as requested and in a timely manner.
- Able to set up AV equipment, sound, and microphones.
- Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (facility damage, vandalism, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Ability to track maintenance and cleaning supplies and order new/additional supplies when needed.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Excellent customer service skills a must.
Ability to read and write and interpret and follow verbal and written instructions.
Additional Requirements for Guest Experience Associate IIThree years of building and grounds maintenance experience.
Ability to operate and use audio visual equipment, i.e. microphones, projectors, laptops, TVs, etc., and other basic hand tools.
Licenses and CertificationsValid Class C Driver's License preferred.
If driving City vehicle or driving personal vehicle for City business, incumbent must possess a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques such as solutions to use.
Skill in operation of small hand tools such as drills and power saws.
Skill in operation of large power equipment such as vacuum cleaner, backpack blower, and floor scrubber.
Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Ability to deal courteously and diplomatically with the public.
Knowledge of current health, sanitation and safety codes.
Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning material.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and routine leaning.
