Maintenance Worker II
Maintenance Worker - Full time with benefits
Campbell County is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker II to join our team. The shift is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. This position offers full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life Insurance along with Virginia State's Retirement Plan (VRS). Campbell County has a generous Vacation and Leave Plan including Holidays, Personal Days, Floating Holidays and Community Service Leave to use.
Position will be open till filled.
Make a daily difference in the Campbell County organization and locality through: hard work, open and honest communication, ongoing improvement and accountability.
Performs with excellence, the following tasks, including but not limited to:
- Performs or assists with routine maintenance of buildings and grounds such as: painting, minor electrical, plumbing, repairing windows, hanging doors, replacing locks, repairing and/or replacing sidewalks, patching and repairing roofs, carpentry, cabinetry, etc.;
- Moves equipment, supplies, and furniture as requested;
- Cuts grass, weed eats, prunes bushes, and rakes leaves, as required;
- Provide support for County events;
- Shovels and pushes snow and applies chemicals to walkways as necessary;
- Replace light bulbs and light fixtures as necessary;
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of related experience
- Valid Virginia Driver's License and insurable under County's Policy.
- Requires completion of National Incident Management System IS-700 and IS-100 within 90 days of employment.
- Knowledge of basic safety as it relates to maintenance;
- Ability to safely operate grass cutting equipment;
- Basic working knowledge of hand and power tools;
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time;
- Basic understanding and ability to utilize the county's adopted software platform.
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly preventative maintenance schedules.
- Plan and manage small building related projects.
- One additional year of experience for a total of 2;
- Desired: one year of supervisory experience.
