Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a part-time custodian at Orange Elementary. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are well‑stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assist with setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow safety protocols and use cleaning supplies and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request additional materials as needed.
• Support a positive school environment by interacting courteously with students, staff, and visitors.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment is preferred.
• Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies.
• Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
