Plant Operator - Nighttime; Union; Contingent Upon Award

Blackstone, VA (contingent upon contract award)

The Central Plant Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining the equipment within a central utility plant, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and other HVAC systems. The operator ensures efficient and safe heating and cooling distribution throughout a building or campus by regulating temperatures, pressures, and flow rates. Duties include routine maintenance checks, troubleshooting issues, and responding to emergencies, serving as the primary caretaker of the facility’s central energy production system.

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plant equipment to maintain continuous operations and maximize efficiency.
• Respond to alarms, equipment malfunctions, and emergencies, coordinating corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain operational logs and records, monitor building automation and control systems, support water treatment processes, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

• High School Diploma.
• Experience in HVAC.
• Three (3) years of experience as a Central Plant Operator.
• Secret Security Clearance.
