Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Custodian at Orange County High. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full‑time position requires a commitment to excellence in cleaning and facility maintenance, ensuring that all areas of the school are well‑kept and conducive to a positive educational experience.

• Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of school facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and recycle bins regularly, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Follow established cleaning protocols and safety procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a clean and safe environment for all students and staff.
• Perform seasonal cleaning tasks such as window washing, floor waxing, and carpet cleaning as required.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance cleaning skills and techniques.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as furniture and cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• A valid driver's license may be required for certain tasks or responsibilities.
