I am a homeowner in Yorktown, Virginia, seeking a reliable, detail-oriented housekeeper / household assistant to help maintain and manage a busy home for a family of four. This role goes beyond basic cleaning — I am looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices what needs to be done without being asked, and helps keep the home consistently clean, organized, and running smoothly.
The ideal candidate is proactive, efficient, and consistent, with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established systems and preferences for how the home is maintained.
Core

Responsibilities Include:

Full kitchen reset: dishes, sink, counters, appliances wiped, and everything put away
Cleaning and maintaining bathrooms to a high standard
Tidying and organizing all living spaces, including toys, surfaces, and clutter
Laundry: washing, folding, and properly putting away items (attention to sorting and organization is important)
Trash and recycling management
Restocking household essentials (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.)
Regular fridge cleaning and organization to maintain freshness and cleanliness
Rotating deeper cleaning tasks (baseboards, cabinets, detailed bathroom cleaning, etc.)
A key expectation of this role is completing an end-of-visit “home reset”, meaning the home is left fully put together — not mid-task — with surfaces cleared, items put away, and cleaning tools stored.

Hours:

This position includes 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule typically spread across 5 days depending on needs. Guaranteed and/or additional hours may be offered as needed.
