Location: Low Moor

Custodian

Routine cleaning of buildings and grounds, primary maintenance of equipment

High School Diploma or GED

Reports to:

Building Principal/Supervisor

The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks:

Possess general knowledge of building equipment, such as heat, air, pumps, electrical.

Correctly utilizes and maintains school equipment.

Promote the efficient use of energy in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Energy Conservation Guidelines.

Uses sound judgment and common sense in carrying out responsibilities and solving problems.

Respond to emergencies.

Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and promptness.

Read, interpret and apply information found on Material Safety Data Sheets.

Demonstrate knowledge of facilities, buildings and grounds.

Demonstrate safe work habits including requirements found in 29 CFR 1910 OSH.

Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance.

Communicate effectively, using good grammar.

Practice confidentiality of work-related matters.

Follow established school board policies and regulations.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Terms of employment: 10 or 12 month contract FLSA non-exempt status, salary will be established annually by the School Board.

Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.

Physical demands/environmental factors:
Daily handling of cleaning supplies; repetitive hand motions; lift up to 40 pounds.
