COMPENSATION: $25 - $32 depending on experience

Position Summary

This role is responsible for preventative maintenance and non-routine corrective repair of material handling equipment (including forklift, pallet jackets, material handling equipment, etc.) and facilities/fixtures. Assists with basic building maintenance, mechanic guidance, and/or special projects as needed.

Here's What You'll Do
  • Conduct corrective repair, sometimes intensive, on material handling equipment (including batteries and chargers)
  • Assist with and/or oversee repair and/or replacement of distribution center fixtures and equipment as needed
  • Ensure facilities and equipment meet all safety and code requirements through preventative maintenance schedules, management of inspections, and creation of corrective action plans
  • Ensure work across team is completed in a safe, clean, and timely manner while keeping business needs in mind.
  • Oversees day-to-day departmental activities as appropriate/needed
  • Ideate and maintain well defined processes for work orders/repairs and ordering of replacement items
  • Manage accurate and timely inventory of facility assets (such as forklifts pallet jacks, and batteries) as well as other parts/equipment/service supplies.
  • Utilize maintenance systems such as Square Rigger/other software as appropriate to ensure accurate and timely documentation of work and inventory
  • Maintain facility appearance
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Here's What You'll Need
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED) (Required)
  • Computer proficiency, including ability to manage projects using computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects
  • Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled.
  • Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and works well with others.
  • Must work well under pressure, and is able to organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines.
  • Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely.

  • Basic hand tools (Required)
  • Hilo License (Required)
  • 5-10+ years of experience
  • Journeyman Card (Strongly Preferred)
  • Previous food distribution/manufacturing experience (strongly preferred)

While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
