Our paid 10-week English Language Learner Program helps participants gain confidence speaking English, improve workplace communication skills, and better understand job-related safety and work instructions. Through a combination of hands‑on work experience and classroom learning, you'll build the skills needed to thrive both professionally and personally.

Program Highlights
  • Paid English language instruction – Receive 2 hours of classroom training each day, Monday through Thursday, paid at your regular hourly rate.
  • Flexible work schedules – Choose between:
    • Full‑Time (40 hours per week).
    • Part‑Time (32 hours per week).
  • Supportive learning environment – Benefit from bilingual policies, work instructions, interview assistance, and onboarding support.

Program Schedule
  • Program Length: 10 weeks.
  • Training Shift: Evening shift, 2:45 p.m. – 11:15 p.m.
  • Training Days:
    Monday through Thursday.
  • Post‑Training

    Schedule:

    Evening shift with potential opportunities for future shift changes based on organizational needs.

An interpreter is available to support candidates throughout the interview and hiring process, ensuring you feel comfortable every step of the way.

About the Environmental Services Technician Role

Environmental Services Technicians play an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families, visitors, and team members throughout Augusta Health.

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms and public areas.
  • Replenishing supplies.
  • Following safety and infection prevention standards.
  • Helping maintain a comfortable, healing environment for all.

No experience is required. Previous cleaning or healthcare experience is helpful but not necessary—we will provide the training and support you need to be successful.

Job Summary

The Environmental Services Technician (EVS Tech) plays a critical role in supporting Augusta Health’s mission and advancing departmental goals through measurable performance indicators and service excellence. This position contributes to a collaborative, patient‑centered environment and helps drive outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.

This position performs a variety of cleaning, servicing and replenishing duties in assigned hospital areas to assure that patient, medical, visitor and administrative areas are maintained in accordance with established standards of sanitation and cleanliness. Position works every other weekend, and days off as scheduled. Works holidays as scheduled.
