TITLE:

CUSTODIAN

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Routine cleaning of buildings and grounds, primary maintenance of equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED

REPORTS TO:

Building Principal/Supervisor

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1. Possess general knowledge of building equipment, such as heat, air, pumps, electrical.
• 2. Correctly utilizes and maintains school equipment.
• 3. Promote the efficient use of energy in accordance with the procedures outlines in the Energy Conservation Guidelines.
• 4. Uses sound judgment and common sense in carrying out responsibilities and solving problems.
• 5. Respond to emergencies.
• 6. Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and promptness.
• 7. Read, Interpret and apply information found on Material Safety Data Sheets.
• 8. Demonstrate knowledge of facilities, buildings and grounds
• 9. Demonstrate safe work habits including requirements found in 29 cfr 1910 OSH

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

10 or 12 month contract FLSA non-exempt status, salary will be established annually by the School Board.

EVALUATION:

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Daily handling of cleaning supplies;

Repetitive hand motions;

Lift up to 40 pounds.
