Facility Cleaner – IAD, Dulles, VA (Union Position)
Address:
Dulles, VA, 20166, US | Compensation: $16.25 per hour | Shift: 5:00 pm – 1:30 am (7‑day, 24‑hour operation)

CANDIDATES MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.
Responsibilities- Maintain cleanliness of work areas building wide (offices, restrooms, storerooms, and food production areas).
- Follow all health and safety regulations set by the FDA and company sanitation standards.
- Dust, mop, sweep, hover, vacuum, wash walls and glass, and clean windows and doors.
- Ensure restrooms are cleaned, sanitized, and restocked.
- Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas.
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
- Notify management of deficiencies or repair needs.
- Coordinate with other cleaners to keep the building clean.
- Clean spills, broken glass, and other messes promptly.
- Refill supplies such as toilet paper and paper towels.
- Hands‑on experience with industrial washing machines is a plus but not required.
- Attention to detail and knowledge of sanitation rules.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
- Integrity and strong interpersonal skills.
- Communication and proactivity.
- Affiliation to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets is a plus.
- Previous experience as a cleaner is a definite plus.
- Be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a background check and a drug screen.
- Must be able to stand for the full duration of the shift.
- Must be able to lift 25+ pounds occasionally, 50+ pounds frequently, and 10+ pounds consistently.
- Ability to bend/stoop, twist, and stand for 8–12 hours a day.
- Ability to work in a 38‑degree cold room when required.
- Team player and able to work with a diverse group from around the world.
- Comprehension of verbal & written instructions in English.
- Basic math skills.
- Must work a flexible schedule; this is a 24‑hour operation, 7 days a week.
- This is a Union Position — must be willing to pay union dues after 60 days.
- Must be available to work full‑time, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must complete the application/orientation process in English.
- Must be able to lift, bend, and stand safely throughout the shift.
