INSULATOR EXPERIENCED

The candidate will remove, repair, and install various types of insulation, including fiberglass, calcium silicate, and rubatex from piping systems, ventilation systems, and various components and structures throughout the ship. The candidate may also remove and install floor tiling.

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking qualified insulators with 2+ years of hands‑on insulation work experience.

• Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb on a daily basis.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Ability to perform overhead work.
• Clean shaven to wear a respirator.
• Ability to work outdoors, year‑round, in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work at extreme heights.
• Ability to work in small, tight, confined spaces.
• Ability to work any shift to accommodate production needs.

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
