Laundry Attendant Part Time

Position Overview

A Laundry Attendant sorts, washes, and folds laundry as needed by their facility. They also help remove stains from items with appropriate procedures as needed.

• Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agent.
• Turns the valve to fill the washer with water.
• Starts the machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
• Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them successively into wringers and dryers for measured time cycles.
• Sorts dried articles according to identification number or type.
• Folds and places items in appropriate storage bins.
• Irons all table linens.
• Lubricates machines, using grease gun and oil can.
• Ensures cleanliness of equipment.
• Makes liquid soap by dissolving soap granules in hot water and steaming.
• Mends torn articles using needle and thread.
• Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities on laundry lists.
• Soaks contaminated articles in neutralizer solution in vat to precondition for washing.
• Mixes dyes and bleaches according to formula, and dyes and bleaches specified articles.
• Abides by the regulations of the material safety data sheet when using chemicals.
• Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Performs other related duties as required.

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Laundry attendant experience preferred.
• Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Experience with Hotel Brand systems preferred.
• Customer service skills required.
• Prioritization and time management skills required.
• Working quickly without compromising quality.
• Must have a strong attention to detail.
