Job Overview
Position:
Floor Technician at Six Mile, LLC. Full‑time, regular position. The role involves heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning and waxing floors, shampooing rugs, maintaining linoleum flooring, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include routine maintenance activities, notifying management of repair needs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalks. The position reports to a Project Manager and is classified as Non‑Exempt (FLSA).
- Stripping and waxing, & carpet cleaning
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming with a backpack vacuum
- Gather and empty trash
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
- Complete miscellaneous cleaning requests as assigned by management or customers
- Adhere to all safety procedures and use of proper PPE
- Complete understanding of Six Mile training materials
- Acknowledge the Job Hazard/Job Hazard analysis
- Perform incidental tasks related to the position and support overall team goals while maintaining a positive attitude
- High School diploma or GED
- Prior floor stripping and waxing experience required
- Knowledge & usage of strip‑and‑wax and floor buffing machine equipment or knowledge of carpet extraction equipment
- Ability to carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push, pull, stoop, bend or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to pass a background and drug screening
The position is generally active, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times.
