Field Service Technician

Location:

Virginia Beach, VA

• Install, maintain, and repair equipment within the assigned territory to ensure continuity of customer operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Respond to all customer concerns, resolving issues or escalating to appropriate associates, territory managers, or the Control Tower.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace components on NCR Voyix‑supported equipment such as Point of Sale, self‑service checkout, servers, back‑office equipment, handheld terminals, and associated peripherals.
• Install new equipment or upgrade existing equipment in line with the Statement of Work.
• Assist with site preparation, cable installation, equipment staging, testing, modular swaps, and unit replacements.
• Perform periodic preventative maintenance on assigned products.
• Maintain an accurate parts inventory and record keeping.
• Accurately report call activity, expenses, and customer asset information for invoicing and billing.
• Manage all NCR Voyix assets (tools, software, vehicles, documentation, intellectual property) used in service delivery.
• Travel as required, carry and lift parts up to 50lbs (25kg), and work under physical demands such as bending, squatting, walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Participate in the shift pattern, which may include weekend, evening, or night work to meet SLA requirements.
• Achieve Key Performance Indicators to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, quality outcomes, cost awareness, and safe operations.
• May be required to work outside the assigned territory for projects, coverage, or demand peaks.

• Clean driving license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with related years of experience.
• Basic computer skills, including Windows OS navigation and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in PC hardware maintenance and support.
• Works well with minimal supervision.
• Good problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills quickly and work under pressure.
• Ability to meet deadlines and produce high‑quality work.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑relationship skills.
• High mechanical/electrical aptitude and experience maintaining desktops, servers, peripherals, routers, networks, switches, and hubs.
• High personal integrity and support for teamwork.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, overtime, flex shifts, and on‑call duties.

• Associate’s degree or certifications in a technology field.
• Previous experience with NCR or similar equipment.
• Recognized qualification in the electronics or IT domain.
• EPOS maintenance or installation experience.
• Strong desktop hardware experience when EPOS experience is limited.
