Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician supports the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our facility. This role combines facilities management responsibilities with hands-on maintenance, ensuring building systems, utilities, and production support equipment operates reliably and in accordance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems
- Monitor and maintain critical utilities (e.g., clean rooms, purified water systems, temperature-controlled environments)
- Respond to and troubleshoot facility and equipment issues in a timely manner
- Maintain facility infrastructure including lighting, doors, flooring, and general building systems
- Provide maintenance support for production equipment and manufacturing areas
- Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and improvements to minimize downtime
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations
- Follow and support GMP, FDA, ISO, and safety regulations
- Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately and on time
- Participate in audits and inspections, addressing findings as needed
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules and recommend improvements
- Identify trends and implement corrective actions to improve reliability
- Ensure calibration and validation support for facility-related systems
- Adhere to all safety protocols and promote a safe work environment
- Identify hazards and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to facilities and equipment performance
- Assist in coordinating external vendors for specialized repairs or services
- Oversee contractor work to ensure compliance with site standards and safety requirements
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and standard operating procedures across all areas.
Minimum
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
- Experience with cleanroom environments and critical utilities is highly desirable
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal travel may be required between Vista Manufacturing Center and Carlsbad Headquarters office.
