What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking a Piano Technician to support the Head Piano Technician in maintaining the School of Music’s piano inventory. This role is responsible for the tuning, voicing, regulation, repair, and general upkeep of pianos to ensure optimal performance quality for academic and performance needs. The position also assists with inventory management and service documentation.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
QualificationsAssociate’s degree and one year of relevant work experience are required. A Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience are preferred.
What You Will Do- Perform regular tuning and comprehensive servicing of pianos, including voicing, regulation, cleaning, and preventative maintenance to ensure instruments meet performance standards
- Diagnose and complete repairs on pianos, including part replacement, action adjustments, and rebuilds, to maintain functionality and extend instrument lifespan
- Maintain accurate records of piano inventory, service history, and movement logs to support asset tracking and maintenance planning
- Provide occasional tuning and maintenance of harpsichords
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
