Facilities Maintenance Superintendent

At Brazos Electric Power Cooperative , our facilities play a critical role in supporting the reliable delivery of power across Texas. We're seeking a Facilities Maintenance Superintendent to lead the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of our corporate facilities and grounds. In this hands‑on leadership role, you'll oversee preventive maintenance programs, manage contractors and facility improvement projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and help provide a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained work environment for our employees.
What You’ll Do:Building Maintenance and Facilities Improvement
- Manage maintenance and operation of all company facilities and grounds.
- Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs for buildings and equipment.
- Lead facility improvement, renovation, and capital projects.
- Manage contractors, vendors, RFPs, and maintenance contracts.
- Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire, lighting, and security systems.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, fire, environmental, and building codes.
- Conduct facility inspections and resolve maintenance issues.
- Oversee physical and electronic security systems and related upgrades.
- Support facility and infrastructure projects across cooperative locations.
- Manage maintenance activities within approved budgets and schedules.
- Coordinate facility space planning, renovations, furniture installations, and building expansions.
- Manage work orders, maintenance records, contracts, warranties, and facility documentation.
- Identify facility needs, develop solutions, and oversee projects that improve building functionality and appearance.
- Assist with annual operating and capital budget planning.
- Source and manage critical equipment, parts, and supplies while planning for equipment obsolescence.
- Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate timely corrective actions.
- Manage and oversee maintenance contractors, service contracts, and contractor performance.
- Lead facility improvement projects from planning through completion in coordination with engineering and consultants.
- Serve as the Facilities representative, coordinating with internal departments and external agencies.
- Develop and maintain facility policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Train employees on the proper operation and use of facility systems.
- Communicate facility‑related issues with local authorities and provide updates to leadership.

What You’ll Bring :Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associates degree in a relevant field or equivalent military experience.
- Two (2) years of facilities maintenance experience with Building Management System Software & Lighting Controls Systems with emphasis on computer‑controlled HVAC systems that utilize centralized, high‑efficiency chillers and cooling towers, and cooling system water chemistry analysis and maintenance.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate
- Five (5) years of facilities maintenance experience with Building Management System Software & Lighting Controls Systems with emphasis on computer‑controlled HVAC systems that utilize centralized, high‑efficiency chillers and cooling towers, and cooling system water chemistry analysis and maintenance.
- Certified Facility Manager certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Commercial HVAC certification required, Journeyman preferred but not required
