p>POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED

p>To clean and maintain buildings; to provide general custodial services; and to perform related work as required at various buildings across campus.

Receives immediate supervision from the Custodial Services Supervisor and exercises no supervision.

Regular Work Hours p>Monday through Thursday work hours 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM and on Fridays 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

NOTE:

This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

Selection Criteria ul> li>Knowledge of assigned buildings, layouts, and areas to be serviced; li>Standard custodial methods, materials, and safety practices; li>Commercial custodial equipment and cleaning supplies; li>Proper handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals; li>The college’s mission, values, and commitment to a safe and clean learning environment;
li>Skills in performing routine custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom sanitation; li>Operating custodial equipment such as vacuums, auto scrubbers, buffers, and hand tools; li>Following written and verbal instructions; li>Organizing work tasks and managing time efficiently to complete assigned duties; li>Using basic technology or electronic systems required for the position (e.g., work orders, timekeeping); li>Ability to read and write at a level necessary to understand work instructions, safety guidelines, and signage;
li>Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and campus staff; li>Use basic technology and electronic systems for communication, scheduling, and required job‑related tasks; li>Work independently or as part of a team; li>Follow safety procedures and use equipment properly; li>Perform physical tasks associated with custodial work, including standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive movements; li>Reliably report to work on a consistent and timely basis.
/ul> Working Conditions p>Exertive‑Significant exertion on a daily basis. Awkward positions and sustained activities require strength. Frequent moderate lifting is required. Minimal Hazard/Exposure‑Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.

Education:

Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. li>

Experience:

No experience is required. /ul> Preferred Experience p>Special consideration will be given to those with custodial experience.
