Job Summary
Family Promise of Hawaiʻi (FPH) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit working to prevent and end homelessness for families with children. Our mission is to help homeless and low-income families in Hawaiʻi achieve sustainable independence by mobilizing existing community resources and support. We offer emergency shelter, rental assistance, prevention/diversion services, and holistic case management.
The part-time Weekend Site Coordinator will provide essential facilities maintenance for the ʻOhana Navigation Center on weekends. This team member will serve as the main point of contact for vendors and families on these days and ensure continuity of services and operations outside of the organizational work week. This Coordinator will help manage facility supplies and donations, ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the facility, respond to potential emergencies on site, and provide additional support to the FPH staff as needed.
EssentialJob Functions
Facilities Maintenance (50%)
- Unlock the building in the morning and/or secure the office at the end of the day.
- Check mail and sign for deliveries.
- Coordinate with staff and external vendors and contractors for facility maintenance needs.
- Clean and maintain all indoor facility common areas.
- Manage basic upkeep of the exterior and landscaping of the property, including weeding, debris removal, and cleaning.
- Manage maintenance requests and assess needs.
- Provide basic maintenance and repairs and/or coordinate with staff to secure a vendor.
- Respond to on-site emergencies.
Service Coordination (25%)
- Coordinate with other FPH staff to facilitate donations (food, supplies, etc.), volunteer schedules, and other facility needs.
- Support families in understanding FPH program guidelines and expectations regarding facility usage, including their facility maintenance chores.
- Ensure facility access for use of all common spaces such as the kitchen, laundry, recreation, and bathrooms.
Supply and Donation Management (25%)
- Stock, track, and organize supplies for families. Coordinate with other staff and community partners when supplies are running low.
- Distribute supplies to families as needed. Track requests and ensure that families receive supplies designated to the appropriate program.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs.
- Self-motivated and passionate about the mission of Family Promise of Hawaiʻi.
- Empathetic and able to empower families’ choices.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proficient at time management.
- Team player who works well with a variety of personalities.
- Able to accept feedback and adaptable to change.
- Flexible with work schedule.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Training, certification, licensure, or previous work history in a trade such as plumbing, electric, construction, or similar field and/or can serve as a handyman.
- Fluent in another language, particularly Pacific Islander languages.
- An interest, training, or background in social services.

Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly wage is $23-$25/hour.
