Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
Location: Waimea/Kamuela
Job Description
The base salary for this position is $29.95 hourly.
This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs across the resort to ensure a safe, functional, and pristine environment for our guests and team members. The ideal candidate will have general maintenance experience, a commitment to excellence, and a passion for hospitality in a luxury resort setting.
- Performs repair and maintenance work on hotel facilities; performs all duties of subordinate positions, repairs, and paints under general supervision. Keeps parts and tool inventories.
- Cleans and maintains areas as assigned. Responds to trouble calls.
- Checks the balance of pool water, pH, and salt requirements; checks and maintains pool equipment for all pools, spas, and water features; manually introduces chemicals and maintains correct flow rate, filter pressures, and chemical feed rates; cleans and maintains all pool-related areas.
- Assists in keeping daily pool records.
- Keeps equipment maintenance records.
- Assists in setting up equipment for special events, and maintains equipment for special events.
- Communicates at daily function briefings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
- Assists higher-rated maintenance team members.
- Must be fast‑moving, energetic, and enjoy being on his/her feet all day.
- On‑the‑job training (OJT) in areas of the different trades.
- Must have a strong ability to work with people, and possess some experience in interpersonal relationships; able to work with people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.
- Has the knowledge, ability, and skills of at least one trade.
- Can lift, and/or carry a maximum of 50 lb.
- Can work unassisted on guest‑related room work requests.
- High School Graduate. Certificates of a trade.
- Prior hospitality experience preferred.
- CPR Certificate and/or First aid training preferred.
