The City is looking for a dependable, motivated Facilities Custodian to join our team! In this role, you'll help maintain City buildings and public spaces so employees, residents, and visitors can enjoy a safe, clean, and professional environment. From preparing meeting spaces for community events to ensuring facilities shine each day, your work will have a direct impact on the services we provide.

• Performing daily custodial and maintenance tasks throughout City buildings.
• Cleaning and sanitizing public and employee restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, and common areas.
• Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining floors.
• Emptying trash and recycling containers throughout assigned facilities.
• Cleaning windows and sanitizing high-touch surfaces such as tables, countertops, chairs, doorknobs, and light switches.
• Assisting with room setup and cleanup for meetings, community events, and special programs.
• Responding promptly to additional cleaning requests and unexpected facility needs.

We're looking for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and enjoys taking ownership of their work. Successful candidates will have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Custodial or janitorial experience (preferred).
• A valid Michigan driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• The ability to obtain and maintain LEIN certification.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
• The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with coworkers and the public.
• Basic computer skills needed for day-to-day responsibilities.

This is an active position requiring frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, carrying, and moving materials throughout the workday. Work may include exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, loud equipment, and other maintenance-related conditions. Candidates must be able to perform manual labor and safely handle the physical demands of the position.
