Job Description

This is an on‑site position that requires regular attendance at the facility. The employee is responsible for general custodial care of the facility and sanitation activities of the warehouse under general supervision. The role entails cleaning an industrial kitchen and food processing facility while meeting productivity goals and safety standards. Tasks include, but are not limited to, removing garbage, moving floor mats, picking up food items, tearing empty cardboard boxes, and washing dishes.

Duties

Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Perform all custodial duties throughout the entire facility—including dusting, sweeping, washing, wiping, scrubbing, shoveling, and mopping; often requiring ladder climbing.
  • Pre‑rinse, wash, and sanitize equipment according to company standards.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in the facility, collecting and disposing of all trash or debris daily and cleaning up all spills.
  • Assist with removal of compost throughout the day.
  • Understand approved chemicals and SDS sheets.
  • Ensure the plant is clean, sanitized, and free of product residue and debris.
  • Prevent accidents by following proper chemical and workplace safety practices.
  • Report equipment issues to maintenance.
  • Clean the cooler, cooler floor, and mop dry warehouse, aisles, mezzanine, and slot cleaning.
  • Scrub floors in aisle areas of the dry warehouse, cooler areas, and docks.
  • Preserve floor care using power equipment in assigned areas.
  • Maintain parking lots and front sidewalks weekly or as needed.
  • Remove trash or other property‑damaging elements.
  • Complete daily sanitation log for documentation of sanitation activities.
  • Dust and vacuum warehouse racks.
  • Clean restrooms when needed, including urinals, toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors, floors, and restocking paper dispensers.
  • Maintain the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas and travel aisles.
  • Maintain accuracy of warehouse product locations during slot cleaning.
  • Report any unfixable or unsafe issues to supervisor immediately.
  • Enforce all safety rules to reduce accidents and injuries.
  • Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and orderly.
  • Inspect and maintain material handling equipment daily; report repairs to supervisor.
  • Comply with all company policies, including attendance, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Associate Handbook.
  • Comply with all applicable state/federal laws, regulations, and policies (OSHA, HACCP, AIB).
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout shift.
  • Learn, understand, and consistently follow sanitation procedures and methods.
  • Schedule flexibility with availability for overtime and weekends; must be able to work overtime to meet production and sanitation deadlines.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
