Facilities Technician - Electrical & HVAC - Broadway Plaza

Overview

The Maintenance Technician II will lead a team to maintain a safe, well‑maintained Nordstrom store environment. Supporting the Facility Manager, the technician ensures HVAC, vertical transportation, restaurants, entries, signs, and building systems are ready for daily business, while responding to break‑fix and on‑demand requests, advanced troubleshooting, and delegating new work orders to the team.

• Perform on‑demand and planned preventive maintenance on all critical and non‑critical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all store operations.
• Operate and monitor building controls, critical and non‑critical building systems, and associated equipment.
• Lead equipment and building rounds and readings; identify, mitigate, and report building systems and equipment malfunctions.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as parts ordering, purchase order creation, and vendor management.
• Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and acting as a safety champion for LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, and machine guarding.
• Serve as the facilities business representative in place of the Facility Manager by attending store meetings, vendor/project meetings, and documenting outcomes.
• Complete preventive maintenance routines with proper documentation and delegate tasks to and mentor other technicians.
• Assist the Facility Manager with technical training of new employees on equipment and building systems.
• Respond to location emergencies and update the CMMS (Coupa) to maintain accurate maintenance history.
• Maintain adequate parts inventory and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and property managers as needed.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

• High School Diploma or GED; an associate degree from a vocational school or college is preferred.
• 5–7 years of hands‑on facilities experience with an emphasis in mechanical maintenance.
• 5+ years of predictive and preventative maintenance experience, including HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting basic input/output functions, low‑voltage signal tracing, and logical devices.
• Strong communication skills—able to converse comfortably with all organizational levels and convey written and verbal information.
• Self‑motivated, highly organized, and able to meet multiple deadlines without supervision.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and a CMMS (preferably Coupa).
• Knowledge of computer networking systems, infrastructure, and electromechanical operation and maintenance.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 50lbs. or more, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders; flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and off‑hours may be required.
