The Opportunity
In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and work closely with the Avantor Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission‑based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Waltham, MA |
Shift: Monday – Friday (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
Hourly pay range: $24/hr. – $26/hr this role is expected to conclude after 6 months.

High school diploma or GED required - Experience:
Prior experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a regulated, laboratory, or life sciences environment - Active IATA certification (air and ground shipping) and DOT certification required
- Experience handling temperature‑sensitive shipments, human biological samples, and hazardous materials required
- Strong understanding of shipping compliance, documentation, and safety procedures
- Experience working in a dock environment with physical handling of materials
- Proficiency with ERP systems and warehouse technology
- Training or experience in spill containment, IMDG, and OSHA Right‑to‑Know
- Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations and compliance standards
- Experience supporting procurement or supply chain operations in a laboratory setting
- Coordinate and execute shipping and receiving activities for biological samples, hazardous materials, and temperature‑controlled shipments.
- Prepare and package materials in compliance with IATA and DOT regulations.
- Manage shipments through approved carriers (e.g., Fed Ex, UPS, Marken), ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Partner with scientists and internal stakeholders to fulfill shipment requests and maintain proper documentation.
- Monitor and maintain temperature‑sensitive shipments using validated packaging and tracking methods.
- Receive incoming materials, inspect for accuracy and integrity, and properly log inventory.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company standards for handling hazardous and biological materials.
- Support dock operations, including staging, loading, and unloading shipments.
- Maintain shipping supplies inventory and order materials as needed to support business demands.
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and chain‑of‑custody for all shipments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
