Summer Facilities/Equipment Room Help

Job Goal:
Waltham Athletics is seeking summer grounds people and equipment room help.

Responsibilities: A groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces to ensure they are functional, safe, and visually appealing. An equipment manager supports the lifecycle sports gear, ensuring they are procured, maintained, and safely stored.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Perform routine landscaping, lawn care, seasonal cleanups, equipment maintenance, debris removal across high school athletic facilities. Assist with the set up and breakdown of facility use. Assist in lining the fields. Ensure the safety of stakeholders using the facility. Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate tracking records of equipment and uniforms. Ensure all gear is clean and complies with industry safety regulations.

Other duties/responsibilities assigned by the Head of Facilities/Director of Athletics Requirements:
Have a valid MA driver's license.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to do the following:
Stand and Walk:
Remain on feet for extended periods on various surfaces.

Lift and Carry:
Regularly lift, move, and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. (Occasional heavy lifting with assistance may be required).

Maneuver and Posture:
Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, and climb ladders or stairs while carrying gear.

Reach and Handle:
Use hands, arms, and shoulders to operate machinery, push/pull heavy objects, and handle tools.

Vision and Hearing:
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Constant auditory awareness is necessary for safety.

Environmental Exposure:
Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

Reports to the Director of Athletics Salary: $15/hour (up to 20 hours a week)
