Maintenance Technician

POAH Communities seeks a Maintenance Technician to support safe, well-maintained affordable housing communities. This role handles daily work orders, preventive maintenance, apartment turns, and emergency repairs across building systems, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, appliances, and common areas. The technician partners with site management and resident services to ensure timely, professional service, supports safety and code compliance, and contributes to capital improvement projects while upholding POAH's mission-driven, resident-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily maintenance work orders in occupied units and common areas
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
• Support basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repairs
• Prepare units for move-in through apartment turns and minor renovations
• Respond to on-call and emergency maintenance needs as assigned
• Ensure safety standards, code requirements, and property policies are followed
• Inspect property regularly and report capital or major repair needs
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors as directed by management
• Maintain maintenance logs, inventory, and work order documentation
• Collaborate with site management and resident services to support resident satisfaction
