Job Summary
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing maintenance tasks while leading daily maintenance activities on the floor. This position supports preventive maintenance routines, troubleshoots equipment issues, and provides guidance to maintenance team members. The Maintenance Lead focuses on ensuring equipment reliability across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems while supporting production throughput and minimizing downtime.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, following established procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, escalating complex issues as needed
- Lead and support routine preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled work
- Coordinate daily maintenance tasks and assist in prioritizing workload
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
- Identify equipment issues and communicate repair needs to supervisor or management
- Assist with ordering parts and materials and verifying inventory for repairs
- Support inventory management and parts tracking
- Provide guidance and support to maintenance team members on tasks and processes
- Reinforce safe work practices and ensure adherence to safety policies
- Follow all safety policies and regulations
Perform all other duties as assigned by management
Skills and Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues with minimal supervision
- Ability to lead and support daily maintenance activities in a hands‑on environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment while providing direction to others
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work
- Previous welding experience required
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a lead or senior maintenance role preferred
- Strong familiarity with tools, equipment, and industrial machinery
Schedule
- Monday-Friday 6:00 am-4:30 pm (on call when plant is running)
