Position Overview

Position Available: Full Time Custodial Floater - 1st & 2nd Shift

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 1st or 2nd Shift (majority of hours on 2nd shift) in the West Bloomfield School District.

Wage: $18.75/hour

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Remove stains from surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning of furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restrooms, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety items for repair.
• Setting up and cleaning up after scheduled events.
• General snow removal/lawn care as needed.
• Ability to drive to more than one building in a work day.

• Previous custodial/janitorial experience.
• GED/High School Diploma.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Must have valid driver’s license and your own vehicle for transportation.
