Overview

Jellystone Park Grayling, MI is seeking a dedicated and hands‑on Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of park maintenance, ensuring a safe, clean, and well‑functioning environment for our guests and staff. This role is vital in maintaining park infrastructure, addressing facility repairs, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities General Maintenance & Facilities Management
  • Oversee the daily maintenance operations of the park, ensuring all facilities, cabins, RV sites, grounds, and common areas are in top condition.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of park equipment and infrastructure.
  • Perform routine inspections of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other essential systems, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Address and resolve maintenance requests from guests and staff promptly to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain roads, pathways, and signage within the park to ensure clear, safe access for all guests and vehicles.
  • Monitor and maintain proper waste disposal and recycling procedures, including septic system maintenance.
  • Ensure all playgrounds, pools, and recreational areas are properly maintained and meet safety standards.
  • Oversee inventory and procurement of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment to ensure availability when needed.
  • Commitment to daily hayrides, ensuring the vehicles are maintained and operational for guest enjoyment.
  • Commitment to maintaining the pool, including regular chemical testing, balancing, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • You may be asked to perform additional duties beyond those listed here as needed to support overall park operations.
  • Provide hands‑on training and guidance to maintenance team members, ensuring efficiency and high‑quality workmanship.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment by encouraging teamwork and accountability.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding workplace safety.
Emergency & Safety Management
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations, such as power outages, plumbing failures, and weather‑related damages, in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations.
  • Regularly inspect fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and first aid supplies to ensure readiness in case of an emergency.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and other department heads to develop and implement emergency preparedness plans.
  • Coordinate with the General Manager and other department managers to ensure seamless park operations.
  • Work with the Guest Experience team to address any maintenance‑related guest concerns quickly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Housekeeping team to ensure timely repairs and upkeep of guest accommodations.
  • Support special events by ensuring facilities and equipment are properly set up and operational.
Education/Training/Experience

To excel in this position, the following qualifications are preferred, but not required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in maintenance‑related fields is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3‑5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality, campground, or resort settings.
  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Supervisory experience in a maintenance or facilities management role.
  • Knowledge of campground and RV resort maintenance operations is beneficial.
Qualifications/Requirements
