The Facilities Technician is responsible for conducting and/or coordinating facilities maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance.

• Continuously monitor Muskegon facilities systems for proper operation and make repairs as necessary, coordinate with the appropriate contractor if required.
• HVAC
• Fire suppression/alarms
• Security systems
• Air compressors/dryers
• Cooling towers
• Cranes
• Dock levelers/locks
• Plumbing/Backflow prev enters
• Electrical/lighting
• Parking lots
• Roofs
• Doors/locks
• Landscaping/fencing
• Cleaning services
• Snow plowing
• Waste hauling
• Compactors/balers
• Ice/water machines
• Conduct Muskegon facilities preventative maintenance as scheduled, coordinate with the appropriate contractor as needed.
• Assist in coordinating and managing Muskegon facilities capital projects as needed.
• All other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Knowledge and hands‑on skills with facilities systems.
• Appropriate mathematics, reading, and writing skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Completion of all other duties as assigned by the department manager.

• Tools sufficient for facilities systems.
• Lifting weights of variable sizes.
• Frequent bending or twisting.
• Standing, walking or sitting for 8 hours, possibly 12 hours per day.
