Job Summary
This position is part of the Corrosion Technician job family and includes a progression to Corrosion Technician 4 with the achievement of AMPP/NACE CP1.
Essential Functions- Evaluate corrosion damage on pipelines and determine fitness for service.
- Conduct bimonthly monitoring of all reverse current switches, cathodic protection rectifiers, and interference bonds.
- Recommend and track repair and maintenance activity submitted to other departments or contractors.
- Perform remedial activities where cathodic protection levels are below minimum criteria. This includes but is not limited to fault locating, coating evaluation, and cathodic protection current requirements.
- Conduct gas titration inspections on a bi-monthly basis to evaluate gas quality.
- Complete Operator Qualification training or testing in all applicable tasks.
- Attend schools and seminars both within and outside the company to keep abreast of technology, new products and equipment, and changes in regulatory requirements.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports as required by the department and regulatory agencies.
- Review monitoring schedules, completions and results to ensure compliance.
- Monitoring, evaluating, and repairing existing cathodic protection systems.
