About the Role

As a Machine Repair Technician (MRT), you will be essential in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing PLC‑controlled conveyor and baggage systems. The role requires mechanical and electrical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to operate various equipment to ensure airport operations run efficiently. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, collaborate closely with team members, and actively contribute to maintaining safety and operational excellence.

Pay Range: $22–$26 per hour.
Responsibilities- Maintain PLC‑controlled baggage and conveyor systems to ensure smooth airport operations.
- Service and repair PLC‑driven conveyor and baggage systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Log detailed maintenance data into the CMMS.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, golf carts, and company vehicles.
- Respond to maintenance calls and assist in clearing baggage jams.
- Comply with company safety program and trainings.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearance.
- 1+ year(s) of experience in maintenance operations.
- Availability to work 1st or 2nd shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience with 480V and 3‑phase motors.
- Skilled in mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair.
- Familiarity with airport operations.
- Intermediate understanding of PLC Control systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, project management tools, and CMMS software.
Standing, sitting, walking, using hands and fingers to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking or hearing, climbing or balancing, and working in small spaces are all regularly required. Ladder work is required. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Work may be performed in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and in the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems.
Specific vision abilities required include good close‑proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Good hand‑eye coordination is required.
The work environment is similar to airport operations with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircraft and heavy equipment.
