Faculty (Assistant Professor) Center for Brain Health Research

The School of Computer, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences (SCMNS), the Center for Brain Health Research, and the Department of Biology at Morgan State University invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in neuroscience at the assistant professor level.

Job Duties
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in neuroscience, neurobiology, and related areas.
  • Develop new courses and/or revise existing curricula to reflect advances in neuroscience.
  • Mentor and supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, theses, or capstone experiences.
  • Pursue both intramural and extramural funding to support research, student training, and laboratory development.
  • Collaborate with departmental and university colleagues on interdisciplinary research initiatives.
  • Provide research training for undergraduate, graduate, and potentially postdoctoral trainees.
  • Support student participation in conferences, publications, and professional development opportunities.
  • Engage in academic advising and contribute to student success initiatives.
  • Provide services to the department, school, and university.
  • Serve as co-director of the Department of Biology’s Master’s of Applied Neuroscience Program.
  • Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent and relevant postdoctoral training.
  • Applicants should have a record of research accomplishments with a strong trajectory of peer‑reviewed publications and a strong potential for independent external funding.
  • The successful applicant is expected to establish an independent externally funded research program, mentor students in their research team, and teach in graduate and/or undergraduate programs in the SCMNS, as appointed to the department closest to their disciplinary background.

Minimum Qualifications
