Job SummaryMaret seeks a skilled and dedicated co‑kindergarten teacher to inspire students to learn, take risks, and think creatively. As co‑teachers, kindergarten homeroom teachers work to teach language arts, math, and social studies to a class of 20 students. As grade‑level partners, they work closely together to implement a dynamic curriculum and program using best practices. In collaboration with resource teachers, homeroom teachers are expected to oversee the academic, social, and emotional life of each of their students.
A commitment to academic excellence and a love for discovery and exploration are essential to this role.
Full‑time positions include community responsibilities to support lower school initiatives. The kindergarten co‑homeroom teachers report to the director of Lower School.
Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to and passion for equity, inclusion, and belonging in all facets of their work.
The Successful Candidate Will Have- Knowledge of child development and a passion for teaching
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Experience differentiating instruction to support all learners
- Strong writing/communication skills and proficiency in technology
- The ability to foster meaningful connections with/among students and with parents/guardians
- A willingness to commit to professional development and collaboration with colleagues across grades and disciplines
- A minimum of three years relevant classroom teaching
- Training in the Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop and familiarity with Everyday Math (preferred)
- A master’s degree (preferred)
Competitive salary and benefits. Salary range is $71,000
–$122,000
, depending on years of teaching experience and qualifications.
