About The Role Hey Tutor has partnered with a local school district in Washington DC to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to Middle School and High School students.

Role Details We are hiring English & Math Tutors to support students in grades 6th-12th during the school day. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals looking for consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in their community. An in-person background check is required.

• $29-$32 per hour, based on education and experience
• Attendance-based pay incentives

• Monday–Friday availability required
• Must be available between 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

• Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required)
• Experience working with children or tutoring preferred
• Comfortable tutoring Elementary Math and English Language Arts (ELA)
• Ability to manage small groups independently
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by Hey Tutor)

• Tutor small groups of Elementary students without direct teacher supervision
• Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials
• Create an engaging and welcoming learning environment
• Support positive student behavior and participation
• Track attendance and student progress using the Hey Tutor Dashboard
• Assist with student assessments when requested
• Escort students to and from designated areas on campus
• Clock in/out daily using Deputy
• Complete additional duties as assigned
