Our client is seeking a dedicated aid to provide high-quality behavior analysis services to students, K-12, with emotional disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities in the Washington, DC area. Compensation rate is $18/+ an hour.
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY- Assist students with daily activities, including academic tasks, social interactions, and personal care as needed.
- Provide one-on-one support to students with disabilities, following their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans and modify instructional materials for diverse learning needs.
- Help students understand and complete assignments, providing encouragement and motivation.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and assist with conflict resolution.
- Monitor student behavior, providing feedback and reporting concerns to the teacher.
- Assist in classroom management, ensuring a structured and supportive learning environment.
- Help prepare classroom materials and organize resources for lessons and activities.
- Foster effective communication between students, teachers, and parents, sharing insights about student progress and needs.
- Attend meetings and contribute to discussions regarding student performance and IEP goals.
- Participate in training and workshops to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in special education.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and any behavioral incidents as required.
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Must have at least 1 yr. of experience in a school setting or professional facility.
- Experience working with individuals with IDD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and challenging behaviors.
- Supports students with special needs in a classroom or individualized setting, helping them achieve their educational goals.
- Works closely with teachers and other staff to provide personalized assistance, ensuring a positive learning environment.
- Experience working with children or youth
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to support student needs
- Ability to complete and pass clearances
