The RoleWe're looking for a dedicated, data-driven Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in a dynamic, student-centered environment. You'll be part of a collaborative team committed to helping every student achieve, excel, and succeed.
What You'll Do Instruction- Design and deliver engaging, Common Core-aligned lessons tailored to diverse learners
- Use blended, inquiry-based, and project-based learning strategies
- Leverage data to drive instructional decisions and address learning gaps daily
- Manage classroom culture using Responsive Classroom philosophies
- Integrate technology to enhance student learning
- Partner with teaching assistants, clinicians, and support staff to deliver holistic services
- Engage parents and caregivers as active partners in student education
- Communicate openly and effectively with all team members
- Model best practices and mentor peers and students
- Contribute to a collegial, accountable school culture
- Champion the mission and values of The Children's Guild
- Maintain accurate, timely records including attendance, IEPs, progress reports, behavior plans, and report cards
- Meet all regulatory, licensing, and funding documentation requirements
- Participate in campus and agency-wide professional development
- Stay current on certifications and continuing education requirements
- Valid teaching certification (required)
- Strong understanding of Common Core State Standards
- Experience with data analysis and differentiated instruction
- Familiarity with behavioral support strategies and culturally responsive teaching
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelors' Degree in Education from an accredited college or institution and have appropriate licensures with a content specialization. Two to four years of experience or training or an equivalent combination of education/experience is recommended. A state teaching certificate with reciprocity to the District of Columbia is required to be eligible.
Skills RequiredCandidates should be well versed in standard instruction, classroom management, student engagement, communication, and lesson planning.
