Our DC program offers a supportive in-person model that combines group training, peer-to-peer learning with individualized coaching and mentoring. Interns thrive in a risk-free environment where they can make mistakes, simulate work situations, and receive constructive feedback.
Professional training:
One-week comprehensive professional training before internships with ongoing training every Friday.
Comprehensive support:
Interns and employers receive both group and one-on-one support throughout the internship program.
Part-time: 20 hours per week internships;
Monday-Thursday.
Equal pay:
Stipends equal to at least D.C. minimum wage.
Experience based:
Transitional work experiences, not intended to lead to full-time employment.

Requirements
Primary Requirements
- You are between the ages of 18 and 26.
- You identify as neurodivergent.
- You possess a high school diploma or GED by the start of our program.
- You are college capable (even if you may not yet be college ready).
- You are able to be present the entire program (February 1
- April 23, 2027)
- You are able to work a 20 hour work week independently and without the assistance of a job coach.
- You are able to transport yourself to and from Broad Futures training, program events, and internship sites.
- If you are coming from out of state, you able to live independently.
Internships are available in the following areas:
- hospitality and customer service
- general administration
- communications/marketing
- technology/data analysis
- research/policy
Program Cost and Scholarships
The Winter Program costs $7,800 before considering internship stipends, need-based scholarships, and in some cases a housing stipend.
Many interns qualify for scholarships, which can substantially lower these figures. If affordability is a concern, please contact us directly to discuss options.
We are committed to making our programs accessible to all qualified applicants regardless of financial circumstances. Need-based scholarships and housing stipends are available and can lower, and in some cases eliminate expenses.
