Upper School World Languages Teacher
Maret is looking for an inspiring and engaging World Languages teacher beginning in August 2026. Candidates should be lifelong learners who reflects the school's mission and core values, has experience differentiating instructional strategies, possesses strong communication skills, and exhibits nimbleness with technology. The position is supervised by the chair of the World Languages Department and includes teaching, serving as an advisor to a group of upper‑school students, and fulfilling one or more community responsibilities.
It will consider applicants who meet one of the following profiles:
- Spanish Teacher able to teach French
- Spanish Teacher able to teach Humanities (Creative Writing preferred, but not required)
- Spanish Teacher (Spanish instruction only)
Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to and passion for equity, inclusion, and belonging in all facets of their work.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Have experience teaching Spanish across proficiency levels from novice to advanced; experience teaching French, English, or interdisciplinary Humanities is a plus.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of how to cultivate inclusive classroom environments that promotes intellectual risk‑taking and design student learning experiences that lead to long‑term understanding.
- Be familiar with Understanding by Design curriculum development and providing students with effective feedback.
- Exhibit deep content knowledge of Hispanic Cultures and demonstrate a minimum of near‑native mastery in Spanish.
- Display enthusiasm for working with upper‑school students and a commitment to professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
- Have a minimum of three years teaching experience.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; master’s degree preferred.
Competitive salary and benefits package. The salary range is $71,000–$122,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
