Position OverviewSidwell Friends School seeks a per diem Daily Substitute Teacher for our Middle School division in all subjects for grades 5–8. Qualified applicants must hold a relevant college degree, have experience working with children, and be certified in CPR/First Aid. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in using digital and online platforms for both in-person and remote instruction.
Job Responsibilities- Cover classes when the regular teacher is absent or unavailable.
- Deliver lessons and lectures in an organized and effective manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Relevant college degree and/or experience working with middle school-aged children.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the classroom environment.
- Must be available during school hours, which are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
- Substitution opportunities may not be available every day.
- Teaching positions are campus-based and require teaching in person.
