Overview

Duties- Plan and implement a variety of educational, recreational, and enrichment activities tailored to children's interests and developmental needs.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and school staff to support each child's individual needs and progress.
- Provide basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or behavioral concerns.
- Incorporate themes such as childhood development, early childhood education, sports coaching, theater, or Christian counseling into program activities to enrich children's experiences.
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting (highly preferred).
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of sewing (highly considered).
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Must be able to obtain a background check and drug test through DCPS.
- Ability to work hours after school and occasional special events.
- Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus.
- Passion for childhood development, childcare, and creating positive learning environments.
Job Type: Part‑time

From $40.00 per hour
